My love of the environment, animals and the elderly is endless. I will always do what I can.

I hope you are well Rose. I expect like me you think of your dear Mother each day. I never realised just how much I would miss mine.
God bless her.

Have a lovely weekend. Your garden is beautiful as always and so full of color. I love cosmos, too; there is something about their airy stems and their blooms that wave in the breeze that make me think of them as the perfect cottage garden flower. I hope Poppi and Riley are doing well; sounds like a wonderful get-together. The world has been such a scary place the past year, and here in the U.S. the news can be especially depressing. I've found my garden has become the perfect sanctuary. I can't change the world, but I can make my own little bit of heaven. Hope you are doing well!Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384059342847120951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186002245944913029.post-21040423303257690162017-08-10T00:38:34.568-07:002017-08-10T00:38:34.568-07:00I am so pleased with the insect hotel. I believe we all have to work with what we are given and I try to do this. I have planted red hot pokers and incarvillea this year. Yes, life is forever changing just like a garden with the different seasons. Wishing you a beautiful end to your summer and a magnificent autumn. Ps the drought in our part of south Africa and in many parts of south Africa seems to be a thing of the past. It is still a big problem in the Cape. Absolutely desperate. It seems as if it is becoming more and more of a problem worldwide. I have noticed that the UK has been much drier and warmer this year. The red is firetail, I cannot remember the name of the pink. I relocated a lot of the plants in Spring and thought these would look good together.

The Dahlia is Bishop of Llandaff, one of my favourite. The bees love it. I have three large pots and put a plant in each. It has worked so well. I shall leave them in the tubs once they have been frosted, and put them in the shed. Then refresh the soil next Spring and hopefully they will bloom again next summer.

The wire mesh on the bee house is to stop the Blue tits from taking the larva. The bees can still make an entrance so it seems to work well. The Blue tits caused a lot of damage initially.

Party went well......shall have another in the Autumn.

Hope you and yours are well.

Hugs xx
Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14802468583972118464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186002245944913029.post-80317974887819506412017-08-08T12:02:24.886-07:002017-08-08T12:02:24.886-07:00Yes dull here today......and thunder rumbling in t...Yes dull here today......and thunder rumbling in the distance.Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14802468583972118464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186002245944913029.post-7576731017989582242017-08-08T11:02:06.646-07:002017-08-08T11:02:06.646-07:00What a beautiful sight seeing all of these joyful ...What a beautiful sight seeing all of these joyful colors in your garden. Everything looks so healthy. What are the red and pink flowers in the first picture? Is it type of persicaria? Love it. Your insect hotel is quite elegant. I the wire mesh keeping out any marauding animals that would love to slurp up some bee larva. If you had a crescent moon cut out at the top it would look like an old fashioned out house, only this is more elegant. Your stand of dahlias with that dark foliage and those bright red flowers are tremendous. I have grown this variety before but never in such a huge clump. Must remember this for next summer. It is so very good to see you here. I am so happy to hear that the party went well. A true celebration of love.
