A quiet moment............

The last few months at school have been difficult for Poppi.   Verbal and physical bullying have affected her.     She will be moving to a new school in September.
She has a wonderful mother, and brother who will see her through these times.   As Grand-parents we wait in the wings and if needed we will be there, without question.
Although she is emotionally battered and bruised at this time, she will come through.
Dear Poppi, as young as she is, has a positive attitude.   She will for sure, spread her wings and fly once again.
If there are tears, I know her best friend, will be watching and waiting, ready to sit by her side and take the hurt away..............

  1. Such beautiful photos of a beautiful little girl in your beautiful garden. It's so hard as parents or grandparents to see our little ones go through such turbulent times, I do hope that a change of school will improve things for Poppi. A loving family can make all the difference so I'm sure, as you say, she'll spread her wings and soar. Bless Nella, dogs are always there to give unconditional love.

  4. A difficult time for Poppi - she looks very reflective and beautiful sitting by the pond. Hopefully her new school will be an improvement for her - it is good to know that you are all behind her whatever may come. And of course, the lovely Nella will always be there to cheer her up when needs be.

How are you coping with this heat - my garden is wilting like a wilty thing - the poor old sweet peas don't like the heat one bit and are turning brown as we speak, still, mustn't moan I suppose, we looked forward to it for long enough. Take care. Here's hoping you have a good week.

    1. Hi Elaine,

Yes, that is what we are hoping. A new beginning, a new school. Poppi loves learning and her favourite subject is English. She wants to be an author when she grows up :) Your post yesterday made me smile, as you had the same dream.
Who knows where she will go.

I am not coping with the heat....temperatures and humidity have been so high. Nella is very quiet at this time, she also does not like the heat.
The garden is disappointing, everything is wilting. Plants have bloomed at such speed I do not know what will be left for the autumn. I accept it, as gardeners we have to, do we not ? We have no control over Mother Nature..........

Have a good week, it is supposed to be a little cooler ........hooray !!!

  6. My, how Poppi has grown up! She is turning into quite a beautiful young lady. It breaks my heart to hear that she has had to deal with such issues. Children really can be quite cruel at times, and I know as a teacher you can stop certain actions, but you can't be everywhere to prevent bullies from tormenting others, especially verbally. Having a supporting, loving family and helping her to learn how to deal with this is the best thing you can do. I hope the move to the new school brings a happier atmosphere for her. And dear Nella--it's always good to have a friend like this who's always willing to listen!

    1. Hi Rose,

It has been a very difficult situation for her. Moving to another school will be the best answer to this particular problem.
Poppi is a keen student and just wants to be happy at school, hopefully when the new term starts things will be a whole lot better.

  7. What a beautiful young lady Poppy is and how she's grown! It is the hardest thing in the world to see our children, and I dare say grandchildren though I have none of those, suffer and not to be able to kiss it better for them but to have to watch them make their own way through such troubled times but the knowledge that you are all on her side must help and with lovely doggy friend to cuddle up to the world cannot but look a better place. Hope the new school helps and that this difficult period will soon be just a distant memory.

  9. Poor Poppi, I hate to hear that her school mates are being mean. I hope the school change will be the answer and she will blossom in a new atmosphere. Gosh she is growing up beautifully. I wish her well. I know she has the best support, her family and dear sweet Nella. She can also count on prayers and positive thoughts from her friends across the pond.
