All creatures great and small............

For a brief moment in time,
 I sat with a dragonfly.
How can something be so beautiful, it never ceases to amaze me.
I could sit and watch all day...........but sadly the creature flew away.

I could have sat there all day watching it.

    1. Isn't it beautiful Lisa....I am sure you would be able to paint it.
A good blogging friend who is a bit of an expert on them tells me it is a recently emerged Southern Hawker.

  7. They are truly exquisite aren't they. You were lucky to be able to get some good photos - whenever I see them round our pond they seem to spend most of their time whirring hither and thither. We did see loads when we were at the country park but they were all a very dull brown.

  8. Amazing photos, Cheryl! I've never seen a dragonfly like this one before. I love the lacy wings; it's hard to see this intricate pattern when they're flying about.

    1. So much detail Rose, that we miss with the naked eye. I believe this is why I love my camera so much :)
