My little bit of paradise..........

I must have walked this garden a thousand times or more.
I believe I know every part of it but of course I do not.
Every garden holds secrets........heartbeats and wing beats.    We see only a tiny part of what goes on.

If we play the part of silent watchers, we will find our own lives are enriched by the daily drama of other creatures.
A garden is a peaceful pleasure.      A place for collections of ferns, garden ornaments,
a path overhung with unconfined plants.
It holds a place in our hearts that can be reached by a sight, a sound, a smell.
It is our own little piece of paradise, here on earth.

  1. Isn't this the truth. So nice to see your little part of paradise. I love the way your bridge looks like it has been there for a long time. So inviting.

    1. This is a new bridge. I now have three in the garden, all passing over boggy areas. Mr P made this for me a couple of weeks ago. I really love it, as it has a gentle curve and is quite long.

  2. This is oh so true Cheryl. I love wandering round in the early morning in my dressing gown, cup of tea in hand, to see what has happened in the garden overnight, the growth of everything at this time of year seems to happen in the blink of an eye. Your garden is looking lovely; I love how natural it all looks, as if it is meant to be there - and your new bridge is to die for - clever Mr P!

The weather has been gorgeous these last few days hasn't it - alas this morning we are back to grey skies and rain but after the mini heatwave I think the garden will welcome it.

    1. Thank you Elaine......natural is what I am for.
I love the bridge......it fitted in perfectly. In the Winter I will be able to walk across without paddling.

We have had beautiful weather, although today is grey, it is also very warm. Feels almost tropical :)

    1. Thank you Jan.....

The rabbit is only lovely when it is not eating my plants and digging holes in the lawn :0)
They are very pretty but do a lot of damage in a garden, I have learnt to garden in a completely different way to others.

      Happy days indeed.........

    1. Thank you.........
Rabbits are gentle vegetarians.....but they do immense damage to a garden. I
Whilst I garden for wildlife it is disheartening sometimes to see plants cropped and huge holes in the grass.
I have learned to live with it but is has been a long journey :)

  8. Every time I read your posts I say to myself...this gal should write poetry! You have such a beautiful way with words and you always get to the heart of things in such a gentle, ethereal way. Another delightful post with absolutely beautiful photos. Loved your rabbit and bridge!I do wish I could follow by email so I know when you post......xxx

    1. Thank you Snowbird.
My mother wrote poetry in her younger days.....
I write as I see things, there is a romantic soul deep within.
It is good to know that someone out there likes what I do :)

  9. Snowbird said it so well, Cheryl--your words are as lyrical and spiritual as your photos. I love your bridge--it is so inviting, I want to follow it to see what is on the other side. A garden is indeed a place of secrets and delightful surprises, and is one place that is sure to lift the spirits.

    1. Hi Rose,

      Thank you.
I love bridges.......also walled gardens. They seem to add a little touch of magic to a space. The bridge leads to the garden gate where you enter the copse :)

Think of you often Rose. I do so hope your dear Father is ok.
