Sunrise......sunset.

It is always good to have company when you walk a garden.   I am never alone these days.   I think I have made a real friend :)
A view from the tree house.     The Grand-children and I play hide and seek in the summer.    There are plenty of places to hide in this garden:)
It is also a wonderful place to watch the sun rise.
And this is where I watch the sun set..........the deck at the other side of the garden is covered in pots of flowers.
Each evening when the weather allows you will find me pottering here.     Dead heading the plants and just generally tidying.   For me, it is the perfect way to end the day.

    1. Hi Jane,

The Robin follows me everywhere in the hope that I will give him some treats, I often do.

  2. Hi Cheryl. Robins are certainly the gardener's fearless and friendly companions. Pottering at the end of the day is a great way to unwind.
I'm pleased to hear that you recovered from the unfortunate wasp sting.

    1. Yes they are fearless, aren't they. It amazes me just how close they come. This particular Robin has sat on my hand to take mealworms. I know this is quite common but I cannot tell you how much joy it brings.

Tku re wasp sting.....I have always had respect for them, I have a lot more now :)

  3. Hi Cheryl,

I too love just pottering around on the decking checking out the pots... I usually have loads but I'm cutting them back quite drastically at the moment to try to look tidy and less cluttered - not really succeeding, but one can try.

No friendly birdies here - unless you count naïve fledglings - although I did save a Cinnabar moth from a web, just as the spider was crawling over it. I'm surprised it hadn't already bitten it! I had to clear the silk off the moth and then it could fly away.
I like to think it was grateful.

    I'm the moth angel.

(although I know it won't have capacity for such thoughts).

Thank you very much for the plants; they're now in one of afore mentioned pots on the decking and some will go to my parent's once I get round to visiting them.

    1. Hi moth angel,

I have rescued bees many times from webs :) I am sure they are grateful, surely ?

I grow plants that rabbits eat in pots on the deck. They can't reach them, and I get the pleasure of enjoying them.

      Hope the plants do well.....

  5. What fun to sit up in the tree tops. It would be great fun to sit there and watch the spring and fall migration. Your pots are so interesting with flowers, peppers etc. Like a kaleidoscope of color. Your little garden companion is so sweet. Our garden is full of baby birds right now. Such fun to see.

    1. One year Lisa, Poppi Riley and I had tea on the deck of the tree house. We had dragged the cushions out and made ourselves comfortable. It was a warm summers afternoon. Whilst sitting there I noticed Emporer Dragonflies starting to gather. They were catching insects. There must have been around a dozen of them. The children and I watched for around 30 minutes. One of those amazing moments I will never forget:)

  7. Are they really all your trees? My little patch is so insignificant compared to your acreage. I wish I had more land to play with - sometimes , like now, when everything is growing like mad, I feel the garden closing in on me - a bit claustrophobic - but, hey ho, I will just have to be satisfied with what I have I guess. I have never had a tame Robin we have regulars that visit the bird table but they never follow me round - a blogger friend in Scotland finds her Robins a little too friendly as they come for crumbs from her plate before she has finished her outdoor breakfast. http://livesimplysimplylive.weebly.com/blog/simplycharming. It has been pouring with rain today - hooray - means I don't have to drag the hosepipe out again.

    1. Indeed they are Elaine. We moved here to live the dream. Now we are well into our sixties at times I feel we are living the nightmare :) My previous garden was very tiny, I loved it. It was a walled garden and had a micro-climate all of its own.
There are times I feel I want to go back but then I sit down in the evening with a glass of chilled wine and watch the sun set, I forget all the hard work I have done during the day.

Your garden is beautiful......I love to visit your blog and see how it grows.

Have a lovely weekend...........breezy with glimpses of sunshine here.

    1. Hi Grace,

For the life of me cannot remember the name. I am not very keen on it actually. I buy it for bees and butterflies......they flock to it :)

  9. Love the view from your treehouse! Thanks for sharing this, Cheryl. What a magical garden you have created. I think I could get lost in it, and I don't just mean playing hide and seek--it looks like the perfect place to sit and let all your cares go away.

We had a nest of robins in the crabapple tree closest to my front porch this spring. I enjoyed watching Papa and Mama Robin bringing them dinner every day, and one day I got to watch as the first fledgling left the nest. He landed on the porch near me, before finally flying off. I hope he found a safe home.

    1. Tku Rose......so kind.

How lovely to see the Robin up close and the fledglings. For me, so much more precious than the flowers that grow in the garden.

      Have a lovely weekend Rose.
