  1. One small flash of sun is all it takes in some cases! Hoping for some good stuff on my next off shift.

  3. Exactly, a day can make all the difference. I'm so fed up of the all the wind we've had this year, it's been wonderful today, but...we're forecast rain again here tomorrow..booo. I'm no good on woodland plants at all so I'm afraid I've no ideas about your mysterious plant, but wow, Rhapsody In Blue, when you showed it in bud I didn't think it was my kind of rose. Actually, I thought the colour looked a bit artificial if I'm telling the truth, but it's beautiful once it's open. You know what I'm like for my single roses but I can go for semi doubles too. I like it very much.

    1. Hi Jo,
I agree, I was unsure about a 'blue' rose. I think it is a love/hate rose.
It is hard to show the true colour.....I have taken so many images and still cannot find one that is spot on. The colour becomes more beautiful as the bloom fades :)
One thing I did love though, the flowers were full of bees this afternoon...........that can only be a good thing.

  4. What lovely colours - I really must get some clary sage as it's an attractive herb and a good bee plant I think. I feel as though I should know your woodland plant. It looks very familiar but no name is coming to mind.

    1. Hi Rowan,

The clary sage has done well this year........some years it looks quite sad.
      The bees love it :)

I shall have to do some research re the woodland plant. I was just hoping someone would recognise it, to save me the work.........

  5. Flowers look much more vivid when the sun shines. Indeed, what a difference a day makes, we had today a lovely sunny day too, and tomorrow it even will be warmer followed by a thunderstorm, they say....

  6. The weather today has been glorious ... and I like the colour of the clematis.

Look out for storms coming. Put the kettle on and have a cup of tea and perhaps do something indoors?

    All the best Jan

  7. Hi Cheryl
It was so hot that the whole garden flopped. Had to go round with the hose to perk everything up this evening. I even got my legs out and wore a skirt! Love the Rhapsody in Blue - I really must get some darker coloured roses. I am sitting here with the window open and a lovely breeze drifting through - had dinner outside - the first time this year. Things are looking up.

    1. Hi Elaine,
It has been very hot.........a beautiful day, I am not complaining.
It is good to feel warm again:)

I have at last found a way to grow roses without the rabbit cropping them. .............

      Have a good weekend.

  8. I have no idea what you have there. What ever it sure is going to be beautiful when it is fully open. Lovely. Enjoy this beautiful weather.

  9. I did some research last night Lisa....I believe I now know what the plant is, but I will do a little more checking before I commit :)

    Enjoy the weekend.

  10. All your flowers are looking lovely, I have been enjoying the warmer evenings pottering round the garden..
Had a look for your yellow flower, the nearest thing I could find was Ribbed Meliot but this tends to flower later on in the year... Hope you find out what it is..
