Walking in sunshine

The temperature has risen and the sun is at last shining.   I decided I would spend an hour playing with my camera.
My camera and I are friends now.....it has been a long journey but at last we understand each other :)
One can do so much with a camera these days.
The detail you can capture is amazing.
I love columbine.......my Nannie used to let them seed everywhere, I do the same.
Trollius is captivating.........such an exquisite flower.
There is so much to do in the garden, I really don't know where to start.   Hopefully we will have a few more days of sunshine to give me time to catch up :)

  1. Good morning Cheryl,
Isn't it beautiful! I think I had forgotten what it felt like to be really warm. :)
Your photos are lovely as ever. What is the blossom on the 4th one down?
Enjoy the garden in the sunshine. xx

  2. Hi Lucinda,

It is beautiful here. Just about to walk Nella across the fields.

The fourth image is 'London Pride'....a beautiful old fashioned plant.
If ever you want a cutting just let me know, non invasive, clump forming, and pretty little nodding flowers ......much loved by solitary bees:)

    Have a lovely day :)

  3. I love seeing this over view of your garden. It looks so inviting. I feel like I could stroll through here then have a seat in the swing.Sit there and soak up the sunshine. Ahhhh...

  4. I've got loads to do in the garden as well, but it's not easy when there are young blue tits everywhere I walk. But when I try to take photos of them, they all go into hiding.

  5. Beautiful, ethereal photos Cheryl, isn't it wonderful to have some good weather at last?

I let my Columbines decide where they want to be too, they were here long before I was! Your garden looks lush and beautiful to me. Mine is a mess! So much time has been taken up with clearing away the fallen Lilac and my enemy the Ground Elder has taken over again :-(

    1. Tku Jan...... they say the camera never lies, actually I do not believe that to be true. Long distance shots look so much better at the moment :)

Oh dear, the dreaded Ground Elder.......perish the thought:(

And yes, the weather is gorgeous.....

    1. Hi Linda,

Such fun. The little pink flower is our native Herb Robert :)

    1. Hi Grace,

You are my sort of weather girl :) That would indeed be perfect !

Don't go all technical on me Grace.....A Canon EOS, Mr P just bought a new macro lens, so I am playing. Don't ask me what I do with it, it is a question of just playing around with the buttons :)

  10. I'm so glad the sunshine has returned for you, Cheryl; I know how eager you must be to spend all day in the garden. It's supposed to be terribly hot here this weekend, so I probably won't get much garden work done, though after a week of neglect it really needs it.

    Your photos are awesome!

    1. Tku Rose,

Yes, that is all it takes......another few days won't make a lot of difference.
Perhaps when the weather is a little cooler you can get into action.

  11. Dear Cheryl,
I can feel the warmth on my face as I walk in sunshine with you.
Your macro shots are gorgeous. Teaching the camera to see what you see does take some playing around. Macro photography is teaching me what I cannot see with my eyes. I love seeing deep into the flower and how the veins in the Dragonflies' wings shimmer. I too have a working garden! There is always something to do!
The Rain Dragons finally returned to my gardens. I bet you are pleased!
Happy hands in the dirt and bees in your bonnet,
    Sherry

    1. Dear Sherry,

Yes, I agree, it is the detail that is so fascinating.
I wish I had more time to enjoy my camera, instead of just snapping away.....

So please The Rain Dragons have returned to your gardens.
They did a fine job here but enough is enough :)
Hope to see them again in about two weeks, perhaps you could have a word ?

My hands are dirty and there are plenty of bees around my bonnet, happy days.......

  12. The sunshine and warmth are great aren't they? I confess that my gardening in these temperatures consists of a spot of dead-heading and a little weed pulling - serious gardening waits for cooler days.

  13. Glad the weather is nice and sunny where you are, especially after all the rains a while ago.
You do take such lovely pics and I like the detail. I haven't quite mastered the fine details yet - or snapping animals. Somehow they always run, jump, or fly away. Oh well....

  14. the wide angle shot of your garden is a sight for sore eyes, Cheryl. The space invites the wanderer hither and thither as explorer rather than guided walker - in sunshine or in rain
