Sweet dreams...........

I had the most lovely dream last night.     I was sitting in a cosy room chatting and laughing with my father.
I knew, in the dream, that my father had passed away.
I slowly walked towards him.........he opened his arms and gave me a hug.
At this point I woke up.    Tears rolled gently from my eyes.
Tears of joy...........to spend time with my father, if only in a dream, was beautiful.

May you all have beautiful dreams...........have a great weekend.

  2. Oh Cheryl, you obviously had such a special bond with your father to have such lovely dreams. I had a similar dream earlier this week about my sister. In that dream I knew she was dead too but she was asking me if I missed her. The memories of our special ones keep them alive in our hearts. What beautiful photos in this post, I do love that last one especially.

    1. A very special bond with Dad Jo.

You are so right Jo, it does bring those that have left us close. I have never experienced such a dream.....it was incredibly beautiful. Reading your comment I know you will fully understand what I mean..........

  5. Hi Cheryl
how lovely to dream of your father like that - it must feel like a solace as I know you still miss him. I too often dream about my parents, not quite like having them here, but the next best thing.

Beautiful flower shots, nice to see you have plants that are still going strong. I have emptied all my summer containers now and replanted them with the usual spring bulbs with pansies atop. Not quite as colourful I have to say but come early spring they should provide a pretty enough display.

  6. A lovely dream. I have dreamed very occasionally of my mum but I rarely remember my dreams other than a fleeting knowledge as I'm waking that I have dreamed something.

  7. So nice you had such a lovely dream of your father and also nice you still remember it. I mostly don´t remember my dreams when I awaken in the morning. Your flower pictures are gorgeous and for the first picture this applies: "Take time to smell the flowers".
    Have a nice weekend!

  8. What a lovely dream to have Cheryl ... the thing with dreams, you never know when you are going to have them ... let alone have one like the one you have just experienced.

I can understand you waking in tears, but what a happy dream to be able to hug your father ... precious.

Your photo's you've used here are perfect too.

May you have a peaceful and relaxing weekend... although I know there is always things that need doing... take time to have a cuppa ...

    All the best Jan

  12. Oh gosh! Now that sounds far bigger than a dream to me, and life is filled with tales of the unexpected, I often dream true, those dreams always stand out, they are always more vivid and seem utterly real.
Maybe your dad really connected with you...us humans don't know everything!!! How lovely! How comforting!
What beautiful pics! Especially the last one, Chinese lantern? xxx

  13. We are connected snowbird. Death is a mystery. I had been worrying about my Mother this week. I believe my Father came to comfort me.....to let me know he is there for me.
I could be wrong but the dream helped, and that was a good thing :)

    Yes Chinese lantern..........love them.

  14. This is so ironic, Cheryl, because I had a dream last night, too, of visiting my parents' house and both my parents were there, not just my dad. In my case, though, as I think about it, the reason I dreamed it was because I have been helping Dad somewhat and making plans to get rid of or organize a lot of the clutter that has accumulated there. In my dream the house was orderly and the way I remembered it as a child. I'm glad you were able to connect with your father in your dream, and I hope the situation with your Mother improves. Such lovely images of your garden!

    1. Thank you rose, for such an interesting comment. How very strange we had similar dreams.

Hope you are finding your way and that your Mother is improving.

  15. I have had similar dreams about my parents too, Cheryl, and have always woken up feeling so comforted.

I also start jobs and then get distracted ... I can often pop out to the recycling bin and still be out there an hour later as I start weeding or pruning or deadheading!
