Pretty in pink.........

It is raining, what a change from a week ago.    The garden shows no sign of waking up at the moment.
So I cheated, took myself off to the flower market and bought some oriental hellebore.
I just needed some colour..............

  1. Our January was 7 degrees warmer than normal. There are hellebore buds sticking out of the ground. The one you have pictured here is so pretty. I love the double ones. I keep thinking I will purchase one for the garden but I haven't as yet. Cardinals and Carolina Wren have been singing like it is spring. Crazy. My orchids and begonias give a small splash of color this time of year. I guess that is why I appreciate them so. The grass in the paths is greening up but the Zoysia out front hasn't been fooled by this warmer weather. It won't be as long as it has been and we will have really warm weather and lots of color. I just wish I could get out and do more. It is very frustrating. My foot is better but I don't dare do much or it starts aching. Grrrrrrrrrrrr Have a good day. I hope the sun shines.

    1. Hi Lisa,

I was a little naughty I bought three plants but they were so reasonable. I actually wish I had bought more. He has probably sold out, I will visit again Friday and see.
The garden is green and brown :( A lot of plants have been flattened, especially evergreen sedges. So messy.....

The problems with your foot must be so frustrating. I do hope it improves soon.

No sunshine........it is still raining. We are expecting storm Doris at the end of the week. Strong winds and rain.
Oh well, it is only February.

      Have a good day.

    1. Hi Amanda,
I did spot a clump of snowdrops on a grass verge yesterday.
The first I have seen. No sign of them in the garden though.
I love it when the snowdrops appear. xx

  5. Hello Cheryl! Thank you for stopping by my blog! I hear you on needing some color indoors this time of yr. in my world we have grey skies day after day...I went out and purchased green plants to give my indoors a punch of living green! I loved your idea for the solitary bees!! You have inspired me to begin a collection of these bee houses!

    1. I love my bees naturegirl. Solitary bees are passive, so no problems with the anyone getting stung.
The numbers increase each year and that warms my heart.

      Thanks for dropping by
