Ophelia

Ophelia is an early flowering double snowdrop.
I have lost many but some remain in the copse.
They are so pretty, I hope they stay.

Moss garden.

It is wet and cold today.   Next doors pond is full.   It was empty at the beginning of the year.
Regardless of the weather I decided to take a stroll along the woodland area.    The moss pathway has a natural beauty.    An otherworldly feel.
A garden should give up its secrets slowly.
I notice a tiny fern in the moss.   I did not plant it.
Hidden secrets.    This once was a smiley face.    It is now covered in moss.
The more I look the more I find.

I am ordering ferns today, ready for Spring.
I have plans for a moss garden.    I have the foundations.
I need a project and this is it.
I am excited.

Siberia !!

With weather conditions right I decided to cut back some of the large shrubs.
Shredder in place I was ready to go.
Eight barrow loads later, I decided to mulch the woodland area with the shredded bark.

Just a few images but did manage to cover the whole woodland area.
Mid week we are expecting Easterly winds from Siberia.
The weather conditions look set to stay until next week.
Living in the SE I am expecting some of the evergreens to be damaged.    Such are the woes of a gardener.

Enjoy your week and hope the sun is shining for you.

Cold and frosty morning.

The day started bitterly cold with another heavy frost.
Once the sun came out it felt quite warm.
It has been a topsy turvy February thus far.   No two days are the same.    I need to be out of jumpers, longing for Spring days.   Are you?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As most of you must know by now, the object of this garden is to bring in as much wildlife, as I can.    To be more accepting, to honour that with lives alongside me.
Surely that is what life is about anyway.
In my world, the moss is as beautiful as the hellebore.
 They are just different.
 Each has something to offer.
Special in their own right.

Have a good week and I hope the sun is shining for you.

Time.

What a delight, to walk a garden you have planted.    It still surprises me.    That is part of the enchantment.
I often wonder what will happen to it, further down the line.      Who will take care of it.   Perhaps they will change it completely.    I have seen it happen to other gardeners.
But for now it is in my hands and I hope for many years to come :)
Of course, the best thing about a garden is sharing it, with like minded friends or relatives.
Mum and Dad were my biggest fans, I miss strolling with them.    I miss their input.
So today I share it with you, my gardening friends.
I truly appreciate your company.
