A quiet moment

How peaceful it is sitting by the pond.   There is something quite magical about water in a garden..........
The stained glass dragonfly wings are fine pieces of natures artwork.
The woodpecker arrived and chased most of the other birds away.     I sat in silence taking in all that surrounds me.
Slowly the songs of summer will be revealed.    I wait, with much anticipation, for this is my earthy paradise...................

  1. More wonderful photos. I too love water in a garden, especially when you can hear it trickle, so relaxing. I've only got room for a tiny wildlife pond but it's amazing how many creatures it attracts. How I'd love to have a visiting woodpecker, a magical sight.

    1. Hi Jo,

Large or small water attracts so many creatures. At my previous garden I had a tiny water feature, yet, it was still full of life.
I love the woodpeckers. I had a young green woodpecker last year. He was lovely, used to feed on all the ant hills in the garden.

      Have a good week..............

    1. Sometimes we forget Rose, don't we? Caught up in all the chores a garden can bring. Moments of reflection are very much needed by this gardener.............

  3. Hi Cheryl
Where did you get that sunshine from - I want some - it is freezing and wet and I have just put the heating on. Your pond looks beautifully tranquil - ours is full of spawning fish, chasing each other round, flicking their tails, sploshing about - anything but tranquil! Did you mean 'earthy' or 'earthly' both words are appropriate whichever you meant :)

    1. Believe me Elaine, the sunshine was fleeting. An hour at the most. We are back in the damp miserable cold weather of yesterday. I am getting very tired of rain :(

Ha, too funny........I haven't noticed any spawning fish as yet....but who knows what goes on when I am not around:)

I meant earthy....I am a compost sort of girl......I have nine composters. Soil is key:)
But tku for mentioning it, always appreciate that.

Wishing you sunshine.......and for me to :)

  4. Peaceful tranquility indeed. Nice to see you captured the male B B Chaser. The wing structured on all the Odonata are truly amazing. We just need plenty of sunshine to catch them in their shimmering glory.

BTW my Blue Tit adults have been regularly snacking on the various fat feeders in order to keep up their own body weight as well as their youngsters.

    1. Ponds can be hard work Grace, but they are certainly worth the time given to them.

  7. Such lovely pictures. I love the elder, one of my favourites as you know, but I have never seen this variety. If you fall asleep beneath her on midsummers eve you are sure to be transported to faeryland! Though I think your garden is a little bit of faeryland anyway. :)
