Climbers..........

Clematis are an important part of this garden.   They scramble through shrubs.
 Climb through old fruit trees.
Some are in containers.    I always buy plants that are on offer.    Rabbits love clematis, nearly as much as I do :)

The weather is changeable.   I can hear thunder as I type and the sky is black.   It would seem we are in for another downpour.
Hopefully the clematis blooms will survive.

  1. I positively adore clematis - let me see, I bought four new ones this year, plus five already in the garden - I could well be a contender for the national collection at this rate. Love the one with the raggedy petals, gorgeous colour too. Sounds like we are having identical weather. Hope the cough and cold have retreated. Have a great weekend Cheryl.

Wow 20, I suppose you can never have too many clematis :)

Hope the weekend is sunny for you............

  4. I love clematis but have few sunny areas for them. But we do have climbing hydrangea vines that are shade tolerant and just lovely. Hope the storms don't do much damage.

    1. Climbing Hydrangea are beautiful.
I did plant one here, around six years ago, it did not do well and finally gave up :(

The storm flattened a lot of plants but nothing serious......

  5. Lovely blooms! I just planted my second clematis--I don't know why it's taken me so long to plant another. The funny thing is, yesterday I was trimming in front of the house and was so focused on the weeds I guess, that I didn't even notice my first clematis was blooming until I walked by later!

    1. It is amazing Rose how much we can miss when we are occupied with weeds, planting etc.
I walk my garden morning and evening for that very reason, I don't want to miss a thing :)

  6. Love your clematis! Mine are just leafing out and climbing tall..perhaps with a weekend of sunshine I'll get blooms! In the meantime I enjoy the color the visiting birds bring to my garden! Happy gardening!

  7. My clematis seemed to withstand the horrible winter just fine. They look like such delicate plants but they are tough when they are established. Yours are gorgeous. I love the big double flowers.
