It is really cold ......the sort of wet cold, that gets right into your bones. Mr P is snuggled in the conservatory, reading magazines but I feel restless. I tried reading, that didn't work.
I baked muffins. Went into the village and did some shopping. Had a coffee in the little café.....but still I am restless.
I feel like a caged tiger, I really do need to be in the garden .............
There really isn't much doing out there at the moment, is there? We've been out for lunch today, somewhere we haven't been before. It was lovely, they had a roaring fire and it felt really cosy, perfect with the weather we're having.
ReplyDeleteIt is trying to snow.....I have just lit a fire, it keeps the old house cosy. I do not like getting the logs in Brrr but it is worth it :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have snow??
We are going out for lunch tomorrow and I am really looking forward to it.
Glad you enjoyed yours today, sounds perfect.
There's no snow at the moment. It snowed overnight again but it melted early on today though we're forecast more in to next week. I'l be glad when spring's here.
DeleteMe too !
DeleteI am with you on that one Cheryl - winter has gone for long enough now only a few weeks to go and we will be able to garden to our hearts content. Hang on in there.
ReplyDeleteThis winter seems to have gone on for a lifetime.....I don't know why.
DeleteI am just longing to get out into the garden and feel the warmth of the sun on the back of my neck It really cannot come quick enough now........
I just spent the past hour sorting through all my seeds and planning which ones to start indoors as well as what I need to order for this year. Now I am antsy, too:) But with a snowstorm headed our way tonight, I think it might be awhile before I get out into the garden again!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose,
ReplyDeleteI have a collection of seeds.........and plants in greenhouse waiting to go into the ground.
I believe the anticipation of Spring has got my mind racing about the season ahead, hence the restlessness :)
No, I must calm down, way to go yet before I can start sorting the garden properly.............
I did think about doing some gardening, but it's so cold here too, we have had some more snow here over the last few days, not really enough to go sledging but enough to get the car stuck and driving has been bad. Friday was sunny and I did think I could feel the warmth in it's rays, so not long now.

Not long now....what encouraging words Amanda, thank you for the boost.
DeleteMy sledging days are long gone.........but love to watch the young people having fun :)
I do not like this type of weather either, it is not really cold, it´s wet and most of the days gloomy. It takes simply too long. I am desparately looking forward to work in the garden and sow my seeds, but we have to be patient........
ReplyDeleteI am usually patient but for some reason Janneke, this year I cannot wait to get started in the garden. Hopefully this miserable weather will soon pass and the sun will shine :)
DeletePoor girl. I am making cupcakes today. Having a little baking fit on a rainy day. My tea party is tomorrow. I am hoping for dry weather at least. It is supposed to be frigid tomorrow. Better than rain. I hope the rain soaks in before the cold freezes all on top of the soil. It is having a hard time soaking in. The ground is half frozen. Such it is in SW Indiana during winter. Freeze, thaw, freeze...
ReplyDeleteThe weather sounds awful Lisa.....hope it stays dry for your tea party.
DeleteHope you all have a wonderful time.
Will be thinking of you..........
Холод і вітер за вікном допоможе нам щиро зустріти і оцінити тепло і сонячні поцілунки весни! Скоро... скоро...

Hi Cheryl, been a long time since I've been visiting blogs. We just got a foot of snow dumped on us and temps below zero F. Our winter was not too awful until this. Think I'll make bread pudding for supper and watch the wild birds at the feeder.
ReplyDeleteHello Marmie,
DeleteGosh I was so surprised when I read Rose and Lilacs. Nice to hear from you after all this time.
Great idea, something comforting to eat, whilst watching wildlife, perfect :)
I think many of us have a common restlessness when February comes around. We are so ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely ....
