Oh those Summer nights.

Each gardening season I promise myself I will not buy any more plants.     The problem is I fall in love so easily.
When I saw dozens of satiny midnight blue flowers over lacy leaves I was hooked.    The plants literally followed me out of the nursery.   What is a girl to do :)
Delphinium Summer nights is a dwarf variety.   It grows to around 30cm (12") tall.   It is a bushy plant and is smothered in blooms.   It will flower from Summer - Autumn.
Sadly it is short lived but I will enjoy for as long as it stays.
Be still my beating heart.

  1. I had the same problem on Monday with two standard roses. Lovely colours, especially the purple markings on the leaves.

  2. Oh what a delight. Mz Delphinium is a cute sprite. Like most ephemeral things you have to enjoy them while you have them.
I laughed at your first statement, not buying plants! What a funny thing to tell ones self. I have tried it but it doesn't happen that way. Just after the spring thaw my cold heart melts and the promise of a few new blooms opens my eyes to such new delights. Plant on...

    1. Seriously Lisa, I have got to stop buying them. I bring plants home and have nowhere to plant. I am not planning more flower beds, well I don't think I am :) Hmmmm . . . . .

  4. What a beauty! I understand why it was hard to resist. My delphiniums have all disappeared--I guess that's an excuse for me to buy some more, too, right?:)

  5. Lovely. And the short life of some of our favorites always invites us to buy more plants, no matter what we have told ourselves. I love your fairy garden. It fits in beautifully with the rest of your amazing garden.

Indeed, life is fleeting, we should all take time to cherish those moments that give us pleasure. :)

  7. She would have followed me home too. My poor flowers are really suffering in this heat. There’s so little to pick everything has withered. I’m sorry I haven’t been around, you’ve dropped off my blog roll 😠. Hope to rectify that tomorrow x

    1. Hope you get rain soon.
It is awful to watch a garden wilt.

      Have a good weekend
