A garden is always full of surprises..........

Leaves of Arum Italicum have emerged.   The beautiful marbled leaves are a bonus to a Winter garden.    They sit beautifully among the ferns in the woodland area.
Prunus Autumnalis flowers from Autumn till Spring.    I love the weeping form.    Flowers are small but plentiful and stand up to the weather well.
Candelabra Primula is in bloom, such a surprise.   The exceptionally mild weather has given it thoughts of Spring.
Pots full of fuchsia are still giving beautiful displays..............hard to believe really.    I  am not complaining......
I love the mini forest in the copse.   Surely this must be faerie land ?

Each day I have walked the garden.     Much needed at times.   It has been a difficult week but the news is good, Mr P is home.    He is recovering slowly...........we do not know what the future holds but we are positive and strong in mind.   I personally feel the worse is over and the future is bright.

Thank you all for your words of kindness and compassion.
They have helped me get through this week and I am grateful to each and every one of you.

  1. So glad Mr.P. is on the up and recovering - fingers crossed he will be back to normal soon. Lovely pictures of your garden, especially that one of the Prunus - totally gorgeous - so much happening too - I am sure the plants are confused this year - today was really mild and eventually the sun actually appeared just before dusk. I can't get used to it being dark by 5 p.m. can you. Hey ho - I guess it will get worse before it gets better. My bulbs think it is spring - no end are pushing through the soil - whatever next.

    1. Good morning Elaine,

We are both positive....of course, there will be many hospital checks ahead but that is a good thing. For the moment, all is well.

Love the prunus.....there are so many blooms I am amazed, it looks so beautiful.
My garden is very confused. The old apple tree is still in leaf ?? I do not like mild winters......I do not think they are good for man or beast :) I hear we are going to have a harsh frost tonight.......

  2. Your garden is flourishing during this fall. I pray that Mr P also flourishes as he heals. Love the arum. There are some in my garden too. I will have to look to see if it is coming up yet. Big hugs.

    1. Tku Rose........so kind. Lots of appointments ahead but if the news is positive each time, we know all is well. It is the not knowing that is difficult to cope with.

Mush....don't you just hate it when that happens to a garden. Bet you are dreaming of Spring already :)

We also have an unusual warm and sunny November here, the garden won't go to sleep and each day we see a flower here and there, it keeps us happy.

  6. Glad to hear that Mr P is home and all is well. Stay positive, I'm sure it really does help. Your photos are lovely, it's strange to see summer flowers still blooming away amongst spring plants which are flowering early. I have a cowslip which is already blooming.

  7. That photo of the fungi on the mossy branch is a real classic!
Wishing Mr.P all the best. At least he and you now know the extent of the problem, which is a start.
