I'll huff and I'll puff

 Windy..........
 broken.......
 and battered.
 Still standing ........
 Brush strokes.........
 Sweet smelling......
Clipped, at last......

Not a good day for gardening!!

  1. We had high winds with thunderstorms last night. My parsley looks like it took quite a hit but I'm sure it will straighten up.

  2. We had thunderstorms at the weekend. I have cut a lot of plants down.....they are just not going to recover, many are broken :( I should know better than to plants things that grow so tall. It just does not work on this sight.

  3. That's such a shame. We've had strong winds and heavy rain here as well last week and it's brought a climbing rose off the wall and flattened some athletics but otherwise not too much damage.

    1. It is my climbing rose that is down and lots of the stems are broken.
Lots of debris around, so plenty to clear when the winds subside.
According to the forecast the wind will be stronger tomorrow :(

  4. It's meant to be June ... i went out earlier this afternoon and it was so breezy. Many flowers do look a little battered, some will pick up, others I'm afraid will not.

Will the temperatures rise soon ... we'll have to wait and see.

I will be having soups and stews and not salads soon !

    Crazy weather patterns ...

    All the best Jan

  5. It sure has been bad for wind here , few of my plants have been damaged to. The new plants in the front garden have been squished by a cat sat sunning it's self ! and everything needs watering as the wind is drying the soil out rather fast ! Don't you just love gardening :0

    1. Indeed Amanda gardening :( My climbing rose is nearly on the floor.
The wind is even stronger today, so I am expecting more problems......

The soil is dry, isn't it !

  7. What a year we've had so far. Actually, it's been lovely here today, just a light breeze, so different to the terrible winds we've had just lately. I nearly planted my squash plants out at the weekend, I'm so pleased I held fire as I don't think they'd still be living now if I had. Your poor rose looks forlorn with its head hanging like that, perhaps you should rescue it and bring it indoors where you can enjoy it, such a shame.

    1. I have cut the roses and brought some indoors. Most are broken at the stems anyway, and the climbing rose itself is nearly on the ground. Oh joy !!

      Oh well............

  12. My garden is broken and battered too - the sweet rocket is all leaning, the poppies flattened and growing at odd angles - generally a bit of a mess. I am fed up of being cold if only the wind would drop and the sun make more than a brief appearance.

The house is cold, but I refuse to turn the heating on, ridiculous it is June.

The garden is covered in debris from the surrounding trees....lots to clear but it can wait :)

      Happy gardening Ha!!

  13. Hi Cheryl. What is it with this weather? Just crazy this year and more storms to come over the next couple of days. It looks like you have a quite beautiful garden in spite of it all.
