What a beautiful blue butterfly! I haven't seen any butterflies here yet, but I did see the first hummingbirds at my feeders on Tuesday, which is always a cause for celebration. Sorry to see all the rain you have had. I can't complain about our weather for once; it's been beautiful other than being warmer than I would like. We seem to have gone straight from winter to summer, which is so typical of Illinois. But everything is bursting into bloom right now--I am in my happy place:)
Blue on blue - so pretty. I actually have seen a couple of early butterflies here, not sure what they were. Maybe they were moths, but no matter, spring has definitely arrived. I do love holly (oh and ivy, and the Christmas carol). Have a nice weekend!
Oh what a beautiful combination!!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to rest today but it is difficult with the weather being perfect.
I hope you manage to rest Lisa.
DeleteYou will have more energy tomorrow then.
We had a warm and sunny day today but tomorrow more rain is forecast :(
I haven't seen many butterflies yet. Maybe today they will pop out. I have never seen a butterfly like this one. What a gorgeous color.
ReplyDeleteThe holly blue lays its eggs on holly during the Spring and Ivy in the Autumn. I have both host plants in the garden so they visit often :)
DeleteHow exciting for you. I looked up this beauty to read more about it.
DeleteThe Holly and the Ivy, when they are both full grown.....
Delete:-)
I hope the rain doesn't materialize for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful deep colour!
ReplyDeleteA stunning little butterfly Simon
DeleteSuperb! I haven’t seen one yet this year x
