Hello Cheryl! That so sad...poor little bird.We have many Hawks in our area. Have a relaxing evening!Dimi...
Survival Dimi but it is sad. :(
Oh my. What pretty feathers. I wonder who they belong to? I know the hawks have to make a living but I always feel so sorry for their prey. There was a big hawk in our garden this week. Even the squirrels went into hiding.
Hi Lisa,The pretty feathers are from a juvenile collared dove.It was sitting in the ornamental cherry tree when it was taken. The sparrow hawk is a regular visitor to the garden.Happy Thanksgiving to you my friend.
We can tell when all the bird feeders are empty and a few birds are clinging to the side of the trees. The hawks are not so successful here because of the woods but still they do occasionally take a small bird. I know it's the cycle of life but still...
I guess that is what Sparrow Hawk's do...All the best Jan
Sad, but as you say, the cycle of nature.
Oh dear....I often see that too and hope it was over quickly.xxx
